MONTEVERDI: SO MUCH MORE THAN A HOTEL

Made up of dozens of stone buildings scattered throughtout a still occupied ancient Tuscan village on the edge of the Val d'Orcia, Monteverdi is a cultural and spiritual destination. The old church is used for musical concerts and artists' talks, the spa is near the ruins of the Roman baths, and the food and flowers are sourced from the fields around the hilltop.

Monteverdi came to Johannes Leonardo looking for a new campaign to emerge strong from Covid. We created "Be Taken" to remind potential guests that when life is this beautiful, we should be taken by it - not take from it. Featuring rich colors inspired by the Tuscan setting and the stunning film photography of Carlotta Bertelli, we created a library of visual stories made of layers of images to encapsulate the feeling of a perfect, if ever so slightly hazy, memory.

To build on our brand work, we partnered with three creative visionaries who have experienced the magic of the property. Musician Keb Mo, model and author Anna Cleveland, and conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner worked with us to create content to capture their Monteverdi.
